| Consultation on Journal Rankings and ERA process
The ARC has begun to important consultation processes relating to the ERA program (which replaces the RQF). A consultation paper on the ERA process has been released, comments from VU researchers should be sent to Neale Yates by 24th June. A draft ranking of research journals has also been released and feedback from all researchers on the rankings is needed by July 10th. The Linkage Projects Funding Rules for funding commencing in 2009 are available from the ARC website
The main changes to the Linkage Projects Funding Rules from the previous year (proposals submitted in 2007) are summarised at Section 5 of the rules. The ARC will provide further notification advising when Application Forms and other relevant documentation become available.
As part of improving the way we process our applications and provide feedback, the Office for Research together with the Associate Deans (Research & Research Training) have agreed to implement the following application process for the 2009 ARC Linkage - Round 2.

| VicHealth as a Potential Industry Partner on ARC Linkage Project
VicHealth invites applications from researchers to collaborate with VicHealth as a (potential Industry Partner) on a ARC Linkage Project.
An application process will be put in place to consider applications from researchers to determine which projects they wish to support as an Industry Partner. An application form and guidelines will be made available shortly.
Applications will close with the Office for Research on Friday, 1 August, 2008 and with VicHealth on Friday 8 August 2008. Contact Palmina Fichera on ext 4707 for details.
| Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research 2007
Integrity in research, meeting community expectations, and handling allegations of misconduct are the focus of a new national code released by the NHMRC, the Australian Research Council (ARC) and Universities Australia. The Code replaces the Joint NHMRC/AVCC Statement and Guidelines on Research Practice (1997). Document can be downloaded from NHMRC website
