Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)

Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) is a federal government initiative that evaluates the quality of research undertaken in Australian universities against national and international benchmarks.

ERA is administered by Australian Research Council. The assessment of the research quality is based on a combination of indicators and expert review by committees comprising experience, internationally-recognised researchers.
